C-Series CRANEWAY / LOAD DOORS

Craneway Doors
DESIGN RESOURCES:
Drawings (PDF)

Craneway door systems usually include both a door for the overhead crane and doors for the load under the crane. Door Engineering Craneway doors can be manufactured in sizes up to 125 feet wide and 30 feet or more high. The load doors are typically a swinging door or a bottom supported sliding door and can be virtually any size.
The Craneway door is hinged at the top of the header and swings up and in, allowing the crane to pass under it.

Door Construction
Craneway doors are custom designed to fit around the crane rail. All crane doors are fabricated from structural steel sections and cold formed steel girts. Virtually any siding material can be used to cover the door section.

Operator
Typically mounted on the door section, the operator lifts the top hinged door section with heavy-duty cables. Double drive chains are used to increase safety, and an automatic magnetic brake holds the door in position.

Lock Arms
Due to their height above the ground, craneway doors can experience high wind loads. This is not a problem with a Door Engineering craneway door. Lock arms automatically latch when the door is in the closed position and brace the door against high wind loads.
